Oleksandr Usyk has reacted to Tyson Fury displaying his physique by showcasing his own as they approach fight week.
Oleksandr Usyk has shared a photo showcasing his physique in preparation for his upcoming fight against Tyson Fury in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on May 18th.
The winner will become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999, marking the first occasion all titles are on the line in the four-belt era.
In the image, Usyk appears in peak condition, maintaining a similar physique to his 2021 and 2022 bouts against Anthony Joshua. His face looks defined, and he seems well-adjusted to the heavyweight category, indicating a successful transition from cruiserweight.
The post is captioned “the hard work is done,” suggesting Usyk feels prepared and ready to challenge the Gypsy King.
Tyson Fury Shows Remarkable Physical Condition
Meanwhile, Tyson Fury is also turning heads with his physical condition. Recent photos reveal a notably leaner Fury compared to previous appearances. His current form shows a significant change from the slight belly he sported before his October 2023 fight with Francis Ngannou.
According to Give Me Sport, commenting on this transformation, Lennox Lewis noted: “He [Usyk] is not gonna get the fat Tyson Fury, he’s gonna get the focused guy. The guy that doesn’t have a belly, doesn’t have love handles, is ready, focused and willing.”
Usyk is known for his rigorous discipline during training camps, a contrast to Fury’s approach, enhancing the surprise of many fans at Fury’s improved physique. Usyk’s supporters are encouraged by Fury’s trimmer figure, interpreting it as a sign that Fury intends to outmaneuver Usyk with skill rather than size.
However, this strategy might not be advantageous for Fury, as Usyk’s superior boxing skills could dominate a more technical fight, regardless of Fury’s agility for his size.
