Lando Norris Makes Striking Revelation About Max Verstappen: ‘We Are Not Best Friends’

Last weekend, Lando Norris finally won his first Formula 1 race. The McLaren driver managed to outperform his good friend Max Verstappen during the Miami Grand Prix. Norris wonders if he and Verstappen will remain friends if they frequently compete for wins.

They often play together on PlayStation, travel on the same plane, and are frequently seen together in nightclubs. Verstappen and Norris currently seem to be good friends.

However, if McLaren can keep pace with Red Bull for the rest of the season, their relationship could drastically change. That’s what the 24-year-old Brit predicted after the race weekend in Miami.

Norris discusses his relationship with Verstappen

Norris acknowledges that his friendship with Verstappen could be at risk if he starts competing for wins and a title.

“I know that for sure, but not in a bad way,” Norris told Sky Sports. “We have respect for each other, we get along well. We are not best friends and don’t text each other every day, or anything like that,” said the Brit.

The McLaren driver is determined and hopes to make life difficult for Verstappen much more often. According to him, the Dutchman is among the best Formula 1 drivers of all time.

“We get along and we just have a lot of respect for each other. I respect him and he respects me. Yes, I’m looking forward to really challenging him. I think Max is one of the best drivers ever in Formula 1. So, if I could prove myself against him, that’s exactly what I want,” said Norris.

The same happened with Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton. Both drivers raced against each other in karting and were good friends. When they became teammates at Mercedes in 2013 and the Silver Arrows built a winning car, their friendship quickly ended.
