Ahead of a potential move, Victor Osimhen has subtly indicated his interest in joining Manchester United.
Following Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s acquisition of a minority share in Man United, there has been a renewed emphasis on player signings.
Even after the £72 million signing of Rasmus Hojlund last summer, Manchester United is reportedly still looking to add a striker to their squad.
Osimhen has been consistently mentioned as a potential addition to Manchester United’s lineup as the summer transfer window approaches.
The Napoli standout has attracted considerable attention due to his impressive performance in front of goal in Italy.
This season, he has netted 11 goals in 16 league matches, building on his total of 31 goals across all competitions last season.
Manchester United is believed to be monitoring his progress closely with the intention of possibly making an offer.
The 25-year-old appears to be open to a move to Manchester United, as evidenced by his possession of the club’s jersey among his collection.
Nonetheless, he also has a Chelsea jersey, indicating interest from the Blues as well.
During an appearance on John Obi Mikel’s podcast, Osimhen shared: “I don’t have a preferred Premier League team, but I own jerseys from both Chelsea and Man United.”
He continued: “A lot of my friends support Chelsea, while a few are Manchester United fans. The Premier League is highly regarded by every African player – it’s a prestigious league.”
Acquiring Osimhen won’t be inexpensive, given his substantial £94 million release clause.
Manchester United and Chelsea are not the only clubs interested in him.
Arsenal is also seen as a fan of Osimhen and might consider joining the race for a striker this summer.
Paris Saint-Germain, facing the departure of Kylian Mbappe at the season’s end, views the Nigerian as a potential successor.
