The team managed by Pep Guardiola has identified the Bayern Munich player as their main target for next summer.
At Manchester City, there’s no time for regrets. Following the disappointment of being eliminated from the Champions League in the quarterfinals by Real Madrid, the English team is already thinking about how to strengthen for the next season and make another attempt at conquering Europe’s top competition.
According to The Guardian, the team managed by Pep Guardiola will put all their efforts into signing Jamal Musiala and are prepared to go all out.
The offensive midfielder from Bayern Munich is the main target for the ‘Citizens’, but with two more years left on his contract, the Bavarian team will demand a large sum of money for his release.
City takes the lead
The British media also reports that Manchester City is the leading candidate to sign Musiala, ahead of other teams like Chelsea. One of the main reasons for pursuing the signing primarily lies in what happened in the second leg against Real Madrid at the Etihad Stadium.
With an opponent so entrenched in their area and leaving no space, Guardiola sees Musiala as a key piece thanks to his high technical level, agility, and creativity. It seems that the German has moved ahead of other City targets like Lucas Paquetá, Olise, or Eze.
There have been many rumors about Musiala lately, as he is on the radar of several of the biggest clubs in the world. This includes not only City and Real Madrid, but also other English clubs and Barcelona.
However, acquiring him will not be cheap, as according to Transfermarkt, his market value is €110 million. Potentially, Bayern Munich will try to raise the price further, as he is under contract with the club until the summer of 2026.
