Dani Alves remains free
This Wednesday, Dani Alves achieved a minor victory in court. The Barcelona Court dismissed an appeal attempting to annul the former player’s provisional freedom. The requests were made by the Spanish Public Prosecutor’s Office and the victim’s defense.
The legal body of Catalonia justified the refusal of the requests by stating that the parties did not present any new elements against the decision.
Despite everything, the victim’s lawyers and the Public Prosecutor’s Office have made another legal move. They are filing appeals for a reassessment of the decision by the Barcelona Court. The parties believe that the former player should serve 12 years in prison.
