Virgil Van Dijk Could Make Mega Transfer This Summer

Virgil van Dijk has been one of the world’s best central defenders for quite some time now, which has been important for Liverpool.

Virgil van Dijk has been consistently proving his worth at Liverpool week in and week out. However, it is very much in question whether the Dutchman will still be playing at Anfield next season.

According to the Dutch media Soccernews, Virgil van Dijk is being tempted with a move to the Saudi Pro League this summer.

Van Dijk, who turns 33 on July 8, might find it appealing to spend a few more years padding his earnings in Saudi Arabia, where his good friend Georginio Wijnaldum has been playing for some time under coach Steven Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq.

Karim Benzema earns a tidy sum of one hundred million euros per season at Al-Ittihad, and Cristiano Ronaldo even doubles that at Al-Nassr. It is not known which Saudi clubs exactly want Van Dijk, but it seems clear that a pay day is in the offing for him.

Liverpool could decided to cash in on the Dutch defender

Arne Slot, of course, wants to have the captain of the Dutch national team available at The Reds next season, but from a business perspective, a sale would be interesting for Liverpool, especially if a substantial amount is offered for the former Celtic and FC Groningen player.

According to the latest rumors, the Premier League powerhouse can expect a bid of 55 million euros, which is a significant amount of money for a 33-year-old player.

The big question, however, is whether that is enough to persuade Liverpool to let go of Virgil van Dijk. So far, the Dutch defender has not revealed whether he is interested in moving to a club in the Saudi Pro League after this season.
