The Real Madrid board has declined a sensational offer of €120 million for Rodrygo Goes. The club is not interested in parting with a player they consider key to the future.
“In 10 years, I want to be still playing football at Real Madrid,” the Brazilian Rodrygo (23 years old) said a few days ago and made it absolutely clear that he has only one idea in mind: to have a career at Real Madrid.
Although he has been linked with numerous clubs, the forward is not interested in changing teams. Neither does the leadership at Chamartín value his departure. In fact, recently, the club managed to fend off a sensational offer from Liverpool.
As journalist Eduardo Inda reported on El Chiringuito de Jugones, the Reds were willing to invest no less than €120 million in his signing.
“The bidding club is Liverpool, and the player is very much their style. We are talking about a winger from Real Madrid, and it is Rodrygo. Real Madrid’s refusal is categorical because he is very much liked by the board,” he explained.
It won’t be Rodrygo
However, the director of OK Diario made it clear that the anticipated arrival of Kylian Mbappé (to which the signing of the Brazilian Endrick would be added) could lead to some unexpected sale.
“Some important player will have to leave because there are duplicate positions in the attack. There’s Brahim, Rodrygo, Vinicius, Mbappé. One is surplus but I don’t know who will go,” he added.
Be that as it may, what now seems very clear is that Rodrygo will not be the one chosen, a player who has the full backing of the board and coaching staff and who, despite interest from Anfield, and other teams such as Manchester United, Arsenal, and PSG, will only be let go for the unreachable amount of his release clause.
“Anyone who wants Rodrygo must put up €1 billion,” they say at Concha Espina.
