The veteran is saying goodbye to Europe and will finish his career in the MLS.
Olivier Giroud will leave AC Milan after three years. Through social media, the Frenchman announced his departure in an emotional video message.
“I am here to tell you that the next two games will be my last for Milan. My career will continue in the MLS,” declared the renowned striker.
Giroud’s contract with the Rossoneri expires at the end of the season. The 37-year-old will join Los Angeles FC and, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, has signed a contract until December 2025.
At LAFC, he will reunite with goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, with whom he has played nearly 100 games for the French national team.
Sharp in the twilight of his career
“I am very proud of everything I have achieved here at Milan in three seasons. My story with Milan ends this year, but Milan will forever be in my heart,” Giroud remarked.
The 2018 World Cup winner and record scorer for the French national team won the Italian championship with Milan in 2022.
Despite his advanced age, Giroud remained an important part of Stefano Pioli’s team, scoring a total of 48 goals in 130 official matches for the Rossoneri.
