José Mourinho has been without a job since he was fired from AS Roma in January. Now, reports indicate that he wants to return to a club he has previously managed.

José Mourinho (61) would love to return to Manchester United to manage the team. However, the club does not want the Portuguese manager back.

This was reported by Manchester Evening News.

The 61-year-old, who was dismissed from Roma in January, is reportedly keen on a return to “the island of football” and Old Trafford.

The newspaper states that Mourinho has told those close to him that he wants to give it another try in Manchester. He was fired from United in December 2018 and replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

Mourinho is reportedly a friend of United’s new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, but the new United management does not desire this for the next season.

The Portuguese has won the Champions League twice and is the only manager to have won the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League.

If he is unable to convince the management of the English club that he is the right person to succeed Ten Hag, it may be difficult for Mourinho to realize his wish to return to the Premier League.

Indeed, there have also been rumors about a new coach potentially heading to Chelsea, which has not had a good season either. As it stands, there has been no announcement about Chelsea planning to replace Mauricio Pochettino.
