An event intended to honor and celebrate Jürgen Klopp has been canceled.
Liverpool will bid farewell to Jürgen Klopp after this season. Therefore, he doesn’t have many matches left before his departure. However, an event planned to honor and celebrate the German coach has now been canceled.
This was reported by the local newspaper, Liverpool Echo.
Friday, January 26th, was a pivotal date for all Liverpool supporters, as it was then that Jürgen Klopp announced his decision to step down as the club’s manager at the end of the season.
Consequently, a festive day had been organized at Aintree Racecourse, where fans could watch Klopp’s last match, at least for now, leading Liverpool.
This final match is scheduled against Wolves on May 19th, where the spectators at Anfield will thank Klopp for nine successful years.
However, the event at Aintree Racecourse has now been canceled.
“The event has been canceled and will no longer take place,” the jockey club stated on its website.
Klopp arrived in Liverpool in October 2015, taking over from Brendan Rodgers.
The German has won nearly every possible trophy during his time at Anfield, including the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League the following year.
In 2022, Klopp also led the team to victories in both the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup, although they narrowly missed the league title by one point to Manchester City that season.
