Manchester United is not satisfied with the level displayed by André Onana, who has been a victim of his team’s defensive disaster this season. That said, the British team intends to take action to acquire a goalkeeper this summer.

If things follow the normal course of events, Manchester United is set to be one of the movers and shakers in the upcoming summer transfer window.

In this regard, it’s not new to mention that a total revolution is expected in the project of this Premier League titan for the 2024-2025 season.

For this reason, a reconstruction of the goalkeeper’s role is not ruled out, a position in which André Onana is delivering a highly questionable performance.

The goalkeeper is far from the reliability he showed at Inter Milan, though the defensive frailty at Manchester United also does not help.

Álex Remiro identified by Manchester United

Continuing with the English team, the statistics are striking as they have conceded 81 goals in 48 matches this season.

Given this, the newspaper Marca reports that the Red Devils are on the hunt for Álex Remiro (29 years old). The Real Sociedad guardian has put in commendable performances on a stage as big as the Champions League.

Under contract in San Sebastián until mid-2027, the txuri-urdin team will refer to the €70 million release clause he has.

Meanwhile, Old Trafford will attempt to lower that steep price to proceed with the operation. With Onana on thin ice, United might cast their net for Remiro.

Generally, there is an expectation that United will make several major purchases this summer, as many positions have been questionable this season.

For the same reason, it is expected that the Red Devils will part ways with a number of players. Previous reports have suggested that up to 14 players could leave the club.
