He believes Sir Alex Ferguson should lead Manchester United in the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
Erik ten Hag is not in a secure position at Manchester United, and now, a bombshell suggestion has emerged.
British media personality Andy Goldstein believes the club should bring Sir Alex Ferguson back into the fold.
“I know many will say this is stupid. But it’s not stupid. Before the FA Cup final against Manchester City, the locker room speech should be given by Sir Alex Ferguson. It gives United the best chance to beat City,” says Goldstein, according to VG.
Goldstein is no ordinary commentator. He is a host on talkSPORT, one of the most prominent broadcasters in England. Co-host Darren Bent couldn’t believe what he was hearing when the comment was made on air.
“You want someone back who coached ten years ago – for one game?”
Goldstein’s response:
“Ferguson has something no one else does. Just by entering the room, he has it. Even today. Imagine you’re Marcus Rashford. I don’t know where he is mentally or physically. But I know exactly how important Sir Alex has been.”
The FA Cup final between United and City is scheduled at Wembley Stadium on May 25th.
Ferguson managed Manchester United from 1986 to 2013. During that time, the club won 13 Premier League titles, five FA Cup finals, and two Champions League titles. He retired in 2013.
Now, talkSPORT’s Andy Goldstein thinks he should get one last chance to win a trophy again.
United is currently in eighth place in the Premier League. The FA Cup is their last chance to win a trophy this season.
“You bring Sir Alex Ferguson into the locker room at Wembley against Manchester City, and Ferguson gives the speech: United will have every chance,” Goldstein believes.
The winner of the FA Cup qualifies directly for the Europa League.
