This summer, Jake Paul is set to face Mike Tyson in a bout that has sparked controversy due to the almost 30-year age difference between the two fighters.
Oleksandr Usyk has advised Jake Paul to stop boxing before his upcoming bout against Mike Tyson.
Paul, known for building a boxing career by competing against other influencers and MMA fighters, is set to face the former heavyweight world champion Tyson in Texas this summer.
The match has divided opinions within the boxing community, with criticism directed at Paul for choosing to fight Tyson, who is 58 years old.
Meanwhile, Usyk, who is gearing up for his own major fight against Tyson Fury later this month for the heavyweight undisputed title, offered a blunt opinion of Paul during a promotional video.
According to Mirror, in a word association game, when Usyk was prompted with Paul’s name, he responded with a straightforward “Stop boxing”. When asked about Paul’s well-known adversary, KSI, Usyk referred to him as a “blogger”.
Usyk has been eager to face Fury in the ring after their initial scheduling for April last year was first noted. Plans for their fight were set just two days before Christmas, but they had to be postponed when Fury found it tough to overcome Francis Ngannou in October, prompting him to request a delay.
Their encounter was then arranged for February 17, but was postponed again when the British fighter sustained a cut during one of his final sparring sessions.
The fight was eventually set for May 18, with both competitors vying to become the first heavyweight to hold all four major belts and the division’s first undisputed champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999.
Usyk also aims to mirror Evander Holyfield’s achievement by becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion after dominating the cruiserweight division.
