UFC President Dana White was certainly not reserved when describing the Brazilian MMA star’s UFC debut, which he called ‘one of the best ever’.
Maurício Ruffy is riding high after his first UFC appearance. Last Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, the Brazilian dominated and knocked out Jamie Mullarkey in the first round, impressing MMA fans and Dana White alike.
On his social media, the UFC president made it a point to publicly praise his fighter and shared a highlight reel of his performance in the fight.
Dana’s recognition of Ruffy was well-deserved, as he took home one of the ‘Performance of the Night’ bonuses and was dubbed the new Conor McGregor by some fans for his precision and striking technique.
“This guy is an absolute monster! Maurício had one of the best UFC debuts of all time! #NowYouKnow,” wrote the executive on his official X account, according to ESPN.
