Another Hollywood star is making an entrance into English football, joining Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who have had great success with their ownership of Wrexham.
According to The Sun and BBC, Will Ferrell has bought a significant stake in the traditional club Leeds United, which is still in the running to be promoted to the Premier League.
Specifically, Will Ferrell is reported to have purchased a large share in 49ers Enterprises, the American owners of Leeds.
The Hollywood star, known for movies like “Elf,” “Anchorman,” and “Talladega Nights,” has become a big fan of English football.
In 2023, he surprised everyone in Wrexham when he suddenly appeared at the club’s pub, toasting with fans before a game.
Now, he is joining the ownership group of Leeds United, which already includes his fellow actor Russell Crowe, Olympic swimming legend Michael Phelps, and golf stars Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas, according to The Guardian.
Ferrell is also a co-owner of Los Angeles FC that plays in the Major League Soccer. Additionally, he is a big fan of both baseball and ice hockey.
