Expensive Barcelona Talent Unhappy With Xavi

FC Barcelona’s expensive January signing, Vitor Roque, apparently is not completely satisfied with the treatment he is receiving from Xavi. And now, his agent is also open to a move this summer.

The Brazilian prodigy Vitor Roque joined FC Barcelona in January, six months earlier than initially planned, but his time at the Spanish giants has not been an unqualified success so far.

He has only played 310 minutes, despite Barcelona paying around €40 Million for him and signing him until the summer of 2031. Now, it is reported that Vitor Roque is unhappy with the situation, especially his relationship with Xavi.

Mundo Deportivo writes that the 19-year-old Brazilian is greatly affected by the situation and doesn’t understand why he hasn’t been given more opportunities.

According to the Spanish newspaper, communication between Xavi and Vitor Roque is almost non-existent. The head coach reportedly barely speaks with the player, making it difficult for Roque to feel closer to the team.

This claim, however, is reportedly unrecognizable to the coaching staff, who had previously made a video to show him what he needs to improve, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Agent is dissatisfied

The player’s agent, Andre Cury, also gave an interview with RAC1 on Sunday, where he made it clear that they are not pleased with Roque’s situation.

“Vitor Roque needs more minutes, and no one understands why the coach isn’t giving them to him,” the agent said.

At the same time, Andre Cury dismisses all rumors that Vitor Roque could be loaned out next summer. There are only two options for the striker: to stay at Barcelona or to be sold.

“If the club doesn’t make room for Vitor, we will unfortunately have to discuss with the club to find a solution. Loaning out a young boy can end up harming him, as he goes to another club that doesn’t own him and has no interest in taking care of him. That’s very dangerous for the boy’s career,” he said.

“The best option is to stay at Barca, but if he can’t stay, we will work on getting him a permanent transfer. We chose to come to Barça inexpensively despite other offers.”

19-year-old Vitor Roque has scored two goals for FC Barcelona but has not played since April 13.
