Ronald Araújo has received some criticism for his recent performance levels. Nevertheless, there is a clear indication that Barcelona does not want to part with him. His future is expected to be decided in the coming days.

Heavily criticized after his red card against PSG in the Champions League quarter-final return leg in Catalonia, Ronald Araújo has received support from his club.

The player, who has been with the club for six years, even had the opportunity to extend his contract with the Blaugrana team. According to SPORT, a final decision is expected to be made in the coming days, as his contract runs until 2028.

However, the player has set certain conditions such as a salary increase, while Barca is already constrained by the salary cap imposed by La Liga.

In case of a disagreement between the reigning Spanish champions and the Uruguayan, the latter could be sold during the summer transfer window.

Courted by Bayern Munich, he could become one of the club’s largest sales in history. The fact that it would be possible to sell him for a huge amount could be appealing to Barcelona, which continues to face financial difficulties.

There have been no reports that Araújo wishes to leave Barcelona this summer. On the contrary, he is said to be very happy at the Spanish club and city, and is only interested in staying.

Whether he will be allowed to remain at the club remains to be seen. Likely, his performance for the rest of this season will also influence this decision. He has made several foolish mistakes recently, which may raise concerns about his level.
