“I have seen and heard a lot of information about my future. I said it last night and I’ll say it again. I don’t know yet,” he stated.
On Tuesday, LeBron James posted a message on his X account to emphasize that he still does not know his future and to ask for silence after reading and hearing “many reports” about his plans following the Lakers’ elimination from the NBA playoffs by the Denver Nuggets on Monday.
“I have seen and heard a lot of information about my future. I said it last night and I’ll say it again. I don’t know yet because I am only thinking about spending time with my family and friends,” LeBron wrote.
“When I know, after talking with my family, my advisors, and my agent, you will know,” he added.
LeBron James concluded his message by requesting silence until he clarifies his decision. James, 39, has a player option worth $51.4 million for the 2024-2025 season to stay with the Lakers.
“I’m not going to respond to this, thank you,” LeBron said, according to SPORT, on Monday with a smile in the press room at Denver’s Ball Arena after being asked if he had considered whether that game might be his last with the purple and gold.
“I’m going to be with my family,” LeBron confirmed when referring to his short-term plans, adding that he would later focus on preparing for this summer’s Paris Games.
