The former Manchester City coach has made a shocking statement about Pep Guardiola, who is having yet another good season with the English powerhouse club.
David Moyes’ position as manager of West Ham is perpetually up for debate. The Scotsman has actually performed reasonably well with The Hammers this season, currently holding the eighth spot in the Premier League.
However, there have been some disappointing losses, including a 5-2 defeat to Crystal Palace.
Former Manchester City and West Ham manager Steve Pearce believes that West Ham will only fire David Moyes once they have a replacement lined up.
By summer, both Jürgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel will be available in the manager market, and soon, Pep Guardiola is also likely to bid farewell to Manchester City, according to Pearce.
“You can’t just find a bunch of good managers out there right now waiting for job opportunities,” he said in an interview with talkSPORT.
“It’s going to be quite tight. If West Ham believes they can find a better manager than David, then David will be on the market looking for a new opportunity elsewhere. It will be interesting.”
“I think at any moment, Pep Guardiola could turn around and say he’s had a fantastic time at City, but that his time is also over.”
“If someone asked me if I think he will still be in the job in two or three years, I would probably say no,” he concluded.
Pep Guardiola has been the manager of Manchester City since 2016, and this season he has already won the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup with the club from the blue side of Manchester.
Guardiola has previously stated that he does not plan to stay at City forever. Instead, he has other goals and dreams that he wants to fulfill.
Among other aspirations, the former Barcelona player dreams of leading a national team one day. However, as of now, there are limited vacancies for national team coaching positions.
