Remco Evenepoel will always be linked to Anderlecht, where he rose to fame in the youth ranks. However, the Belgian cycling champion is apparently also a big fan of Arsenal.
Remco Evenepoel announced this himself on Wednesday via a message on Instagram. In it, the Belgian champion is seen with his wife, Oumi, at the Emirates Stadium, where ‘The Gunners’ of Red Devil Leandro Trossard played the London derby against Chelsea on Tuesday. Arsenal won with a solid 5-0 score, and so Evenepoel was ecstatic.
“Something not many people know is how I’ve always been a huge fan of Arsenal since being a kid,” said the reigning world time trial champion. Evenepoel is currently recovering from an injury but is working hard towards the Dauphiné and especially the Tour.
“To let off some steam after my injury and before we leave on training camp to prepare for my next goals, I went to watch Arsenal for the first time and what a game it was.”
“Time to get back to work now and come back as strong as possible for the second part of the season.”
