Barcelona Only Has 5 Non-Transferable Players for the Next Season

The club is willing to listen to offers for more than half of the squad this summer. There will be a total commitment to young players, and opportunities will arise during the summer.

Barca’s sports management is clear that the future project must be led by young players, supplemented by indisputable footballers who provide experience and quality to the team.

The club needs to sell and will make drastic decisions: more than half of the squad is on the market, but there will be no crossing red lines with some players considered non-transferable.

According to SPORT, the list is very short and consists of Cubarsí, Lamine Yamal, Gavi, Pedri, and Mika Faye, who has already been informed that he will have a first-team number and will have the opportunity to prove he can establish himself in the team.

Barca has already made it clear to the entourages of these players that it is not willing to negotiate for them. Undoubtedly, it will shut the door on any interest that may exist in the market, as has happened with Lamine Yamal and PSG.

The focus will be on homegrown players, with whom the club is trying to reach long-term contract agreements, and news is expected before the end of the season.

The club is in advanced negotiations with Pedri and Cubarsí to extend their contracts. The case of the central defender has become a priority after his exceptional breakthrough in the first team. He has a contract until 2026 and his release clause is only 10 million euros, but all parties are very willing, and an agreement will surely be reached.

In the case of Pedri, the club has committed to adjusting his contract to reward his status as a differential player, and the idea is to finalize everything to extend it, at least until 2028.

In the case of Gavi, the conversations are more relaxed due to his severe knee injury, but Barca has also advanced its willingness to extend his contract, which expires in 2026. Gavi had offers in the past but chose not to listen to any, and now his total intention is to stay linked to Barca, grateful for the trust received despite spending the season out due to injury.

Lamine is already secured with a private agreement until 2030, which will be revealed when he turns 18, while Mika Faye’s pay will be increased with a first-team contract to shield him from the numerous offers on the table.

The bet on the youth team’s central defender is strategic as they are convinced that with his left-footed profile, he will become an extremely important asset in the coming years.

Barca’s idea is to build a project around players trained at La Masia plus Pedri, who arrived very young from UD Las Palmas and has flourished at the club. They will be the only non-transferable players and will not leave under any circumstances this summer.

Other starters might leave the club if interesting offers come in for all parties, with all eyes on Frenkie de Jong, Araujo, and Raphinha, players who are highly regarded in the market. Barca does not rule out any sale.
