There have been many rumors about Pep Guardiola recently. As a result, Manchester City has prepared itself to find a replacement for the Spanish star.

Manchester City is already preparing for life without its current manager, Pep Guardiola. This is the message from the Daily Mirror.

The former Barcelona manager’s contract expires at the end of next season, and there are rumors that he does not wish to continue in the position.

Replacing Guardiola and identifying his successor will be a significant task, but it must be done.

However, City Group is not looking far for a replacement, as they already have someone in mind within their organization. They plan to appoint Michel Sánchez from Girona, according to reports.

Remarkably, Girona is on track to finish in the top four in Spain’s top division in only their fourth season in La Liga. Girona is one of the 13 clubs in which City’s owners have a stake through their involvement in City Football Group.

Sánchez has been highly successful since he was appointed as Girona’s boss in 2021 after stints with Huesca and Rayo Vallecano. He has built a successful team featuring several former Premier League players such as Paolo Gazzaniga, Daley Blind, Cristian Stuani, and Eric Garcia.

Guardiola took over at Etihad Stadium in 2016 and has since won the Premier League five times with the Sky Blues.

This season could see them clinch four consecutive Premier League titles if they manage to outperform both Liverpool and Arsenal, which would be a record.

Guardiola has previously expressed interest in becoming a national team coach when his time at Manchester City ends.

“I would like to experience what it’s like to go through a World Cup, European Championship, or Copa America finals,” the 53-year-old Guardiola has previously stated.

“I would like to experience that. I don’t know when, maybe in five, ten, 15 years, but I would like to go to the World Cup as a coach. I don’t know who will want me. If you are to work for a national team, they have to choose you.”
