Boxing legend Mike Tyson, who in a few months will return to the ring in a fight against Jake Paul, encountered another boxing star on the street. It ended with both of them taking off their shirts and throwing punches.
During his active career, heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson accumulated a number of enemies. However, many of these grudges have been forgotten over the years as time has healed the wounds.
Lately, Tyson has been active on social media, preparing to face YouTube boxer Jake Paul in a match scheduled for this summer.
Now, Tyson has shared on Instagram that he encountered a different figure on the street. He ran into another boxing legend, Shannon Briggs.
Both fighters’ shirts came off, and fists started flying as they playfully sparred. Laughter ended the encounter.
“The best of Brownsville are always ready to throw down. I love this guy,” Tyson shared.
Now 52, Briggs was known for his powerful punches. Over the years, he has also staged various stunts to provoke other boxers.
Briggs is also known for his legendary chant, “let’s go champ,” which he occasionally shouts to the point of annoyance.
Tyson’s upcoming fight against Paul has not been well received by everyone. Many have pointed out that there is a three-decade age difference between the two boxers.
Therefore, many believe it is a fight that Paul can only lose. If he wins against Tyson, he has merely beaten a 57-year-old man. If he loses to Tyson, it’s even worse considering their age difference.
Nevertheless, it appears that many are looking forward to the fight between Paul and Tyson, which is scheduled to take place on July 20, 2024, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The fight will also be streamed on Netflix.
