Mike Tyson has made a surprising career announcement ahead of his July fight against Jake Paul.
Three months before its live stream on Netflix from AT&T Stadium, the exhibition boxing match between Jake Paul and former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has become a global sensation.
This highly anticipated fight will impact the boxing world and both fighters, with Paul, a former YouTube celebrity, aiming to establish his credibility against Tyson, who was once considered one of the most intimidating athletes globally.
Following the bout, both Paul and Tyson will move forward with their lives. Tyson has been building a business and media empire beyond the boxing ring, which received an unexpected boost from a recent announcement.
In 2022, Tyson and Evander Holyfield, his former rival, launched a surprising business venture selling cannabis edibles, aptly named “Mike Bites” shaped like human ears, referencing their infamous 1997 fight where Tyson bit off part of Holyfield’s ear.
According to Marca, this Monday, Tyson’s cannabis company, “Tyson 2.0,” partnered with PHCANN, a pharmaceutical company, to make Mike Bites and other products available to consumers in Germany and the UK, marking a significant career step for the 57-year-old.
Tyson expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “I’m excited to make our world-class products available to medical cannabis patients in the region. Together, we’re setting new standards and delivering something that no one else is bringing to the table.”
Tyson, who also owns a 420-acre cannabis resort in Southern California, has mentioned he will quit his marijuana usage to train intensively for his upcoming match with Paul, scheduled for July 20 in Arlington, Texas.
