Bayer Leverkusen Gives Florian Wirtz Gigantic Price Tag

Bayer Leverkusen is open to selling Florian Wirtz, but it won’t be cheap. The club, which recently became German champions, has placed a gigantic price tag on him.

Over the weekend, it became official in Germany that Leverkusen are the newly crowned Bundesliga champions.

After 29 games with 25 victories and no defeats, Xabi Alonso’s troops can lift the trophy, and the performances this season have already started to spark transfer speculation.

Several players on the Leverkusen team have performed at a level that has led major clubs to be ready to raid the German squad.

One of the players who has really delivered impressive performances is Florian Wirtz.

The 20-year-old German has scored 17 goals and provided 18 assists across various competitions this season, making him a sought-after individual.

English top clubs as well as Barcelona and Real Madrid are reported to be interested in Florian Wirtz, but he will be an expensive investment.

Fernando Carro, Leverkusen’s CEO, has set a high price tag on the talented German.

“No one is unsellable, but Florian Wirtz will not leave the club for less than €150 million,” Fernando Carro told Radio Marca.

If the English clubs are to enter a transfer battle against Barcelona, they will need to be very persuasive. Wirtz has previously made it clear that he dreams of playing for the Spanish team.

“I have always dreamed of becoming the best in the world. As a child, I dreamed of playing for Barça, and that hasn’t changed,” Wirtz said in 2022.

However, Barcelona’s financial situation means that there is no chance they can afford to pay €150 million for Wirtz. If a transfer becomes a reality this summer, it is therefore unlikely that Barcelona will be the destination for the 20-year-old talent.
