The Italian team is working to find a forward who can replace Victor Osimhen, as he will be leaving the Serie A club this summer.
It seems likely that Victor Osimhen will be one of the main attractions in the next summer transfer market.
The Nigerian striker might leave the Italian squad, and among the many teams interested in securing his services is PSG, which will lose its top star, Kylian Mbappe, at the end of the current season.
On several occasions, Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has expressed the intention to keep the player, but has not ruled out listening to offers that could meet the club’s financial needs. “We know he will go to Real Madrid or PSG or an English club,” the president stated last January.
With Osimhen’s likely departure, Napoli is already scouring the market for a reliable replacement to fill the void left by the Nigerian. According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Neapolitan team has chosen Jonathan David.
The Canadian striker from Lille is the chosen one to fill the gap that Osimhen will leave. David has already managed to score an impressive total of 23 goals in 40 matches this season. The attacker fits a profile similar to that of the Nigerian striker and his contract ends in 2025.
Napoli is expected to receive a large sum from the sale of Osimhen. They have previously stated that they are not willing to sell unless an interested club pays his release clause.
The release clause is reportedly set at 120 million euros, which would make it easy for the Italian club to afford the purchase of David, who, according to Transfermarkt, has a market value of 50 million euros.
