Neymar Would Sometimes Arrive Drunk at Training in PSG

Neymar did not always show his best side at Paris Saint-Germain. It has now been revealed that he was sometimes drunk when he showed up for training at the French club.

Neymar won five French league titles in six years, three French Cups, two League Cups, and three Champions Trophies during his time at Paris Saint-Germain.

Now in Saudi Arabia, the Brazilian has nonetheless left a generally bitter memory with Parisian fans. This is due, in part, to a lifestyle incompatible with top-level sports, numerous injuries (622 days away from the field in total), and often divisive behavior.

“When he first arrived at PSG, if he fell during training, the whole Camp des Loges would hold its breath. By the end, everyone was telling him to get up and no one went over to him,” said a regular from the former Parisian training center in a report published by France Football. And that’s not all.

In a summary of his various escapades, France Football specifically revisits the party-loving spirit of the Auriverde. In Yvelines, the former Parisian forward often hosted parties and poker games. These were difficult nights for the neighborhood to manage and sometimes painful mornings for Neymar himself.

“Towards the end of his time there, he would sometimes arrive at training drunk. He did not project a good image,” a former PSG member confided.
