Harry Kane Sets Incredible Record

On Tuesday night, Harry Kane set a new, incredible record when Bayern Munich visited Arsenal in the first of two Champions League quarter finals.

Tuesday also marked the day Kane officially returned to North London for the first time since his transfer to the German powerhouse last summer.

Arsenal took the lead in the first half when Bukayo Saka scored past Manuel Neuer in the Bayern goal. However, the Bundesliga giants equalized and then took the lead when Kane scored himself.

The English national team captain not only put Bayern ahead but also etched his name in the history books. He has now scored six away goals against Arsenal, which is more than any other player who has visited Emirates Stadium over the years.

Previously, he shared this record with Liverpool’s Diogo Jota and Leicester’s Jamie Vardy, who both have scored five goals at Emirates Stadium.

Kane has now scored 15 goals in his career’s 20 matches against Arsenal, and there are only two teams against which he has scored more times, namely Leicester (20) and Everton (16).

Kane has had a strong personal season since his move to Bayern Munich from Tottenham in the summer of 2023. He has scored 39 goals in 38 matches across all competitions this season, and his seven goals in the Champions League make him the tournament’s top scorer.

Should Bayern not clinch the Champions League title, Kane will have to wait a bit longer for his career’s first trophy. Bayern are 16 points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga and were knocked out of the German Cup by FC Saarbrücken from the country’s third tier in November.
