Manchester United legend Roy Keane has sent a direct message to Jurgen Klopp, who is leaving his position as coach of Liverpool after this season.
After this season, Jürgen Klopp will leave his position as the head coach of Liverpool. On Sunday, Manchester United legend Roy Keane evaluated Klopp’s legacy on Sky Sports.
Many have already placed Klopp among the greats for bringing a league championship to the club after a 30-year hiatus. However, that’s not enough for Keane.
“They won the championship. They won it, and it was challenging because of COVID, and they couldn’t enjoy it with the fans. From a player’s perspective, if they want to be compared to the greatest teams in history, they need to win another championship,” he said, according to the Finnish outlet Sportti.
“One (championship) is not enough for me. That I can say. They’re not afraid of this challenge. In my opinion, they also need another championship to their name.”
Manchester United and Liverpool played to a 2-2 draw on Sunday. It was a major disappointment for Klopp and his team not to take three points from their latest match against local rivals.
A victory would have significantly improved their position in the battle to win the Premier League. They are still in the fight, but if they continue to drop points like this, it could end up costing them the championship.
