Michael Jordan revealed the only player in the NBA he couldn’t dominate, in statements that have recently come to light.
Michael Jordan is regarded as one of the greatest stars in NBA history. Consequently, there are very few players whom Jordan has been apprehensive about sharing the court with.
On the contrary, the now 61-year-old Chicago Bulls legend has shown he was ready to play against any team and any player. This is naturally one of the reasons he is considered one of the greatest in history.
Yet, there is one player whom he personally felt he struggled to compete against. However, there’s a very special reason why he felt this way.
“When I entered the league, I wasn’t as excited about Magic Johnson and Larry Bird. I was all about Julius Erving. As a kid, my first nickname was Magic, but the only player I truly knew was Dr. J,” Jordan mentioned, according to Pick & Roll.
“I had some good games against the Sixers in my first season. However, I couldn’t do anything against Julius because I had immense admiration for him. I was just happy to be on the same court as him,” he revealed.
There are other players mentioned alongside Jordan, including Kobe Bryant, who is also considered one of the greatest players to ever play in the NBA.
In recent years, many have also pointed to LeBron James, who has broken a plethora of records in his career. However, opinions are divided on whether James deserves to be placed on the same level as Bryant and Jordan.
