Mohamed Salah could potentially leave Liverpool this summer as he is linked with a move to a club in Saudi Arabia.
Mohamed Salah is the number one transfer target in Saudi Arabia, with clubs from the oil state confident that a deal is feasible.
According to HITC, Michael Edwards, the new football director at Fenway Sports Group, is willing to let Salah go if the Egyptian expresses a desire to move to the Middle East.
There, he could become the highest-paid player in the world, surpassing the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, who earns 3,4 million euros a week at Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
The most likely destination for Salah is the Public Investment Fund-owned club Al-Ittihad, which counts Karim Benzema among its payroll.
However, Benzema has had a challenging time in Saudi Arabia, reportedly having a strained relationship with the club’s manager, Marcelo Gallardo.
Therefore, the French star could very well be on his way out of Al-Ittihad, with a return to his former employer, Lyon, seen as a real possibility.
Al-Ittihad, however, believes that signing Salah is what could propel the club forward in a positive direction.
Liverpool itself is also planning for incoming transfers ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, with names like Nico Williams, Pedro Neto, and Florian Wirtz all rumored to be joining the club.
Jürgen Klopp’s team currently sits in second place in the Premier League. Liverpool has accumulated 71 points in 31 games, tying with Arsenal, which has a better goal score.
The defending champions, Manchester City, follow closely with 70 points after 31 games.
Salah moved to Liverpool from AS Roma in the summer of 2017. Since then, he has scored 154 goals in 243 Premier League matches.
