Napoli has turned down Chelsea’s proposal, which included Romelu Lukaku plus a cash payment, in exchange for Victor Osimhen, according to Napoli Magazine.

According to Napoli Magazine, Chelsea from the English Premier League proposed a deal that included Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku and additional funds, aiming to convince Napoli to release their leading striker.

Victor Osimhen has caught the attention of both Chelsea and Arsenal, with each team looking to secure a top striker by season’s end.

Despite this, Napoli quickly rejected Chelsea’s bid for the Nigerian player, who has been a significant target for the reigning Serie A champions.

“As reported by Il Mattino, Chelsea are one of the teams most interested in Victor Osimhen, Napoli striker, for next season,” the website wrote.

“The English club would like to include a quid pro quo in the negotiation to lower the price of the price, but the Azzurri are not interested in Romelu Lukaku, so the Blues would have thought of including Armando Broja who had already been linked to the Azzurri team in the past.”

Last season, Victor Osimhen played a pivotal role in Napoli’s first Serie A championship in 33 years by netting 26 goals in 32 games, although this season he’s found the back of the net 11 times and provided three assists in 18 league matches.

Earlier this year, Osimhen committed to Napoli by signing a new contract, which includes a release clause valued at approximately €130 million.

Chelsea is anticipated to submit a renewed bid for Osimhen in an effort to outmaneuver other interested clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Real Madrid, all of whom are vying for the 2023 African Footballer of the Year.

Furthermore, Dario Canovi, representing Thiago Motta, has indicated that PSG is currently in the lead to secure Osimhen’s services, as the striker has instructed his agent, Roberto Calenda, to lay the groundwork for a transfer to the Ligue 1 champions.
