Borussia Dortmund wants to keep the English winger Jadon Sancho, but it might be difficult with the price Manchester United is asking for him.
Since January, Jadon Sancho has been on loan from Manchester United to Borussia Dortmund, where from he was originally purchased.
It has been a successful arrangement for all parties involved, and both Dortmund and Sancho are reportedly keen to continue their collaboration.
However, it may be difficult for the German powerhouse to afford him.
Sky Sports reports that United is asking for more than 40 million euros to release the 24-year-old Englishman. Still, this price is more than halved from the price Sancho was bought for.
Since January, the winger has made 11 appearances for Dortmund, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
Jadon Sancho’s contract with Manchester United runs until the summer of 2026.
Due to the strained relationship between Sancho and Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag, there seems to be no prospect of him being brought back to Old Trafford after this season.
On the contrary, Sancho is among several players United hopes to sell this summer. To avoid issues with Financial Fair Play regulations, they need to sell players before making any new purchases.
Ultimately, this could potentially force them to lower Sancho’s price. If that happens, Dortmund might have a chance to strike a deal.
