There have been numerous rumors that Zinedine Zidane is closing in on a coaching position. Now, it’s clear that he is only interested in one specific coaching job.
Zinedine Zidane apparently does not currently consider a commitment at club level. According to a report by Mundo Deportivo, the 51-year-old would only return to the coaching seat if he could take over as the French national coach.
However, Didier Deschamps still stands on the sidelines for the Équipe Tricolore, with his contract running until 2026.
Zidane was recently repeatedly linked with FC Bayern. There were rumors that Zizou could join Säbener Straße in cooperation with Franck Ribéry. A switch to Juventus Turin was also a topic.
There have also been rumors about Zidane being considered for a job at Manchester United. The club’s current manager, Erik ten Hag, has been subject to heavy criticism this season.
The Red Devils seem likely to miss out on European football next season. Most recently, they lost 4-3 to Chelsea on Thursday evening, after having taken a 3-2 lead.
However, Zidane does not speak English and has not shown interest in learning the language. Therefore, it seems very unlikely that he would accept a coaching job in the Premier League.
