PSG Turns Attention Back to Osimhen: Napoli’s Clause Is €130 Million

The French have already brought Lavezzi and Cavani to Ligue 1 in the summers of 2012 and 2013. History could repeat itself.

Victor Osimhen, the striker man worth 130 million euros and a release clause that recalls famous cases of renowned forwards from the past.

Aurelio De Laurentiis, this time, has also dusted off some words that taste of a hint: after Osimhen’s signature in December on the new contract from 2025 to 2026, a renewal built through exhausting work with the player’s manager, Roberto Calenda, the president explained very calmly that this will probably be Osimhen’s last season with Napoli.

With a subsequent clarification: in his contract there is a release clause. A tool ignited by Juventus for Higuain and then by PSG, twice, a habitué, first for Lavezzi and then for Cavani. Many years ago: in 2012 the Pochò affair, in 2013 the Matador. 31 and 64 million, which added up make 95, not even 100, and not even close to the value of Osimhen’s clause.

A superb forward, whom Nasser Al-Khelaifi has already tried to buy a year ago, the famous summer of the hit, but De Laurentiis, wanted 200 million euros. PSG was not willing to go beyond 150 million euros.

Sometimes, however, they return. And PSG, in the midst of the assault by Premier League clubs and the inevitable Arabs, has done it again. Back on the trail of Osimhen, with force: in England and also in Nigeria, there’s talk of Chelsea, United, and Arsenal, but Paris stands out like the Eiffel Tower.

It stands up to everyone. It will not give up. But it also knows that Napoli is waiting for the 130 million of the clause. It will be a very hot market era.
