Cristiano Ronaldo would become the first player in football history to become the top scorer in four different leagues if he can secure his lead in the Saudi Arabian league.
The leading active goalscorer in football, Cristiano Ronaldo, could be very close to achieving an unprecedented feat in the sport, which he can only finalize if he secures his position as the top scorer in the Saudi Arabian league with Al-Nassr.
According to data shared by the Twitugal account on the social media X, with Cristiano Ronaldo as the top scorer of the Arab league (25 goals in 26 matches) and maintaining a four-goal lead over Aleksandar Mitrovic (Al-Hilal), he could further cement his legacy within football.
The Portuguese striker would become the first player in history to secure the top scorer position in four different leagues, a record that other football legends such as Lionel Messi, Pelé, or Diego Armando Maradona have not been able to achieve.
In fact, he already holds the record for being proclaimed the top scorer in three different leagues, although this record is shared with Luis Suárez and Robert Lewandowski.
Despite this, he remains the only player to have won the top scorer title in three of the top five leagues, leading the Premier League in the 2007-2008 season (31 goals), La Liga on three occasions: 2010-2011 (40 goals), 2013-2014 (31 goals), and 2014-2015 (48 goals), as well as in Serie A during the 2020-2021 season (29 goals).
Although Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal-scoring instinct remains intact at 39 years old, with 33 goals and 11 assists in 34 matches across all competitions, personal success has not translated to team success as it did in the past with his previous teams.
And that’s because Al-Nassr is currently eliminated from all competitions they participate in, and although they haven’t lost the chance to fight for the national title, the leader Al-Hilal is 12 points ahead with very few rounds to play.
