Many top clubs have shown interest in the young Florian Wirtz. Now, there is certainty regarding his future.

After 10 years, Bayern Munich will abdicate its throne in the Bundesliga. The emergence of Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen, propelled by the brilliant performance of Florian Wirtz, has allowed the aspirin team to win a league title for the first time in its history.

In that sense, the name of Florian Wirtz has been linked with the world’s top clubs. With a contract until 2027, Leverkusen has made a decision regarding the young German gem. Like Xabi Alonso, Wirtz will be part of the aspirin team’s squad next season.

Thus, in an interview with Onda Cero, the CEO of the Bundesliga leader has confirmed the continuation of Florian Wirtz: “This year he will definitely stay here 100%”.

A decision where Xabi Alonso’s announcement to stay at Bayer has been very influential: “Having Xabi Alonso stay is an added incentive.” Another case closed for Leverkusen.

Naturally, this means that the clubs that had identified Wirtz as a transfer target for the summer will have to look elsewhere for other options.

Leverkusen’s great success has undoubtedly played a role in the German club’s ability to keep him. Had the situation in the Bundesliga table looked different, Wirtz might have decided to explore other options.
