The Grand Plaza Hotel in Ljubljana has put up for auction the bed in which the Portuguese star slept during his stay in the Slovenian capital.
Cristiano Ronaldo and the members of the Portuguese national team caused a frenzy in Ljubljana during the last international break.
The team, coached by Roberto Martínez, spent several days in the Slovenian capital for a friendly match against the national team of the country, which ended in a local victory (2-0). Despite the result, Cristiano’s presence in Slovenian lands sparked “a true Ronaldomania.”
The footballers stayed at the Grand Plaza Hotel in Ljubljana, one of the city’s most sought-after and busy hotels. There, hundreds of fans gathered to support the Portuguese star, hoping to get an autograph or a photo.
However, many of them felt “disappointed” after missing out on this cherished souvenir from their idol, according to the local media outlet 24ur.
“The star left many of his fans disappointed by evading those attempts and leaving Slovenia shortly after the match, played on the 26th, which the Slovenians won 2-0,” it reports.
The Ljubljana hotel has sought to satisfy those dissatisfied fans with an initiative that has caused a great sensation on social media. The bed in which Cristiano Ronaldo rested during his stay in the Slovenian capital will be auctioned off at the end of April for a starting price of 5,000 euros.
The money raised will be donated to charitable causes, as announced by the hotel on its website.
