Victor Osimhen will leave Napoli at the end of the season, as the club wants to focus on his transfer to rebuild the team.
Victor Osimhen could represent a great opportunity for Napoli to rebuild their future, with the Nigerian set to be sold during the next summer.
Giovanni Scotto, in an interview given to CalcioNapoli1926.it, discussed various topics. What (and who) should be the starting point to become competitive again?
“De Laurentiis needs to step back into the shadows, limiting himself to choosing his collaborators and evaluating their work. He should ideally minimize public appearances and interviews, returning to a low profile that has often been beneficial for everyone involved. Chiavelli, his close associates, and advisors should be removed from any technical-sporting decisions,” he said.
“It’s necessary to choose a strong sporting director who will take responsibility for technical management, and then a high-level coach. The ideal would be someone charismatic and successful, like Conte or Klopp. Otherwise, a coach who is ambitious and promotes a proactive and modern football, capable of improving players. And in this regard, players who feel they have made it should be let go. Certainly, there are more than one.”
What can we expect from Napoli in the market?
“De Laurentiis has been reassured: the 120 million from Osimhen will arrive, I believe from Paris Saint-Germain. This money will compensate for the missed Champions League revenue and partially for the Club World Cup revenue,” he said.
“I don’t think the club will invest excessive amounts: the disastrous championship will at least allow them to plan a more forward-looking rebuild, without the pressure of fighting for the championship. This could allow for focusing on young and relatively unknown players, as Napoli has always liked to do.”
