Fabrizio Romano claims to have information that Liverpool has identified a favorite to succeed Jurgen Klopp this summer.
Fabrizio Romano maintains that Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim is currently slightly ahead of Brighton’s Roberto de Zerbi as the frontrunner to succeed Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool’s manager.
In an exclusive conversation with CaughtOffside for his most recent Daily Briefing column, Romano shared that, based on the information he has, Amorim appears to be more likely than De Zerbi to become Klopp’s successor.
“Despite the links with De Zerbi as Klopp’s successor, I keep repeating my position on that – I’m told that Ruben Amorim is the favourite option for now. De Zerbi has been on the list for Liverpool for some time as well, but there’s still no development so far,” Romano said.
“Let’s also see what Bayern will decide to do, but it’s still time for internal talks at Bayern on who will replace Thomas Tuchel, and nothing has been decided yet.”
De Zerbi has undoubtedly merited an opportunity at a leading role, and observing his impact on this Liverpool team would be fascinating. Equally, he presents a viable choice to rejuvenate Bayern following a challenging season.
