David Beckham has sparked rumors about a sensational “MSN” reunion by welcoming Neymar to the American city.
The Brazilian was part of FC Barcelona’s legendary attacking trio along with current Inter Miami stars Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, a team that won the La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Champions League treble in 2015, scoring 122 goals on their own.
The “MSN” trio made history as one of the world’s greatest offensive line-ups but was broken up at its peak in 2017 when Neymar joined Paris Saint-Germain for a record-breaking €222 million.
Messi eventually reunited with the Brazilian at Paris Saint-Germain for two seasons when he left Barcelona on a free transfer in 2021, but the duo never reached the heights of their Barcelona days.
Both players were frequently booed by the Parc des Princes crowd throughout their last season together. Hordes of PSG supporters stormed the club’s training ground and Neymar’s home to demand his departure.
Beckham wants to create a new Barcelona in Miami
Beckham stepped in last summer, securing a massive deal to bring Messi to Inter Miami, and he has become the biggest attraction in MLS history since arriving at Chase Stadium. The Argentine World Cup winner has since been joined by his compatriots Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, and Suarez, his former offensive partner.
While Beckham was busy at Inter, Neymar left Europe for Saudi Arabia. The 32-year-old Brazilian joined Al-Hilal last summer for €90 million and an estimated annual salary of €150 million. The Brazilian record goal scorer has had a nightmarish period: he only played five matches before suffering a severe knee injury last fall. He has yet to return to competition, and his future remains uncertain.
