Noni Madueke has placed a player who departed Chelsea without a transfer fee above England’s captain, Harry Kane.

Chelsea has experienced a challenging few years in the Premier League, finishing 12th last season and showing little sign of significant improvement this year.

Despite this, Chelsea once boasted several remarkable players in their lineup, winners who consistently delivered results. Madueke has expressed admiration for one such former teammate.

Since Todd Boehly’s acquisition of Chelsea, the team has undergone considerable changes. Despite continuing to invest heavily in new signings, Chelsea’s decisions over the past two years have been widely criticized.

Under Boehly’s leadership, Chelsea has seen the departure of several key players from the previous era. N’Golo Kante is among the most notable of these departures, regarded as one of the finest in his role.

Kante, who transferred to Chelsea from Leicester City in 2016, quickly became a fan favorite at Stamford Bridge. His contributions were crucial in securing the Premier League title for Chelsea in his first season, along with Champions League and Europa League victories.

Despite rumored interest from Arsenal, Kante moved to Al-Ittihad last summer as a free agent.

In a Pro Direct Soccer TikTok video, Chelsea’s Noni Madueke was asked to rank 10 players without seeing their names. He placed Harry Kane fourth. However, when Kante’s name came up, Madueke rated him higher than the Tottenham star, placing him third.

Last summer, N’Golo Kante completed a transfer to Al-Ittihad without a transfer fee, joining renowned players such as Karim Benzema and Fabinho.

Kante has contributed four goals and six assists across all competitions to date. Despite these efforts, his team currently trails Al-Hilal by 25 points at the summit of the Saudi League standings.
