Manchester City’s star, Erling Haaland, believes his club should open their wallet to bring his fellow countryman to Etihad Stadium.
Norway’s goal machine for Manchester City, Erling Haaland, has nothing but praise for his compatriot Martin Ødegaard.
The two are currently joined with the Norwegian national team during the international break.
While they naturally can’t face each other in national team play, the situation is different at the club level.
They find themselves on opposite sides when Manchester City and Arsenal clash on March 31.
This match could very well decide the destination of the championship this season. Losing could likely result in falling behind in the title race.
Haaland admits he would like to see Ødegaard in the City squad. When asked if Ødegaard could enhance the current City team, Haaland affirmed.
“Yes, I believe so. He is a great player and one who plays for our rivals. He has just signed a new contract, so it’s not a current topic, but at City, we have many of the world’s best players,” Haaland stated according to Daily Mirror.
Haaland has been highly regarded since his move to Manchester City in the summer of 2022.
Although this season hasn’t been as successful as his debut season, he can still be proud of his efforts, and his prolific goal-scoring abilities have earned him the title of Premier League’s top scorer as it stands.
