Anthony Joshua emerged victorious against Francis Ngannou in a bout earlier this month, and the Brit appears poised for his upcoming challenge.
Anthony Joshua has hinted at an upcoming bout, mere weeks after his triumph over Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia. Earlier in the month, Joshua showcased his prime form, defeating Ngannou with an impressive second-round knockout.
He seems to be gearing up for another appearance in the ring, as indicated by a cryptic message to his followers on social media last Friday. Sharing an image on his Instagram story of himself on the phone, Joshua included the dialogue: “Incoming call from @258management. AJ: ‘How can I help?’
“@258mgt: ‘They want you to fight.’ AJ: ‘I will get ready.'” The identity of the opponent Joshua alludes to in his post is yet to be disclosed, especially with his significant heavyweight competitors, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, slated to compete in Saudi Arabia in May.
After facing defeats to Usyk on two occasions, Joshua has shifted his focus towards Fury, openly challenging the Gypsy King after his victory over Ngannou. “In terms of Usyk and Fury I am only a phone call or a tweet away,” he declared to Sky Sports.
“I’ll fight Fury in his back garden, it does not matter to me; whenever, whoever, it doesn’t matter to me.” However, Joshua may have to delay his ambitions of clashing with his compatriot in the ring, as Fury and Usyk are bound for a rematch in October, as stipulated in their agreement.
