Oleksandr Usyk’s promoter has given bad news to Anthony Joshua, who recently defeated former UFC champion Francis Ngannou.

Former two-time unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) recently showcased an impressive performance against ex-UFC star Francis Ngannou (0-2).

While there’s ongoing speculation about Joshua facing Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) should he triumph in his upcoming duels with Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs), discussions about a Joshua vs. Usyk match in the event of Usyk defeating Fury have been notably absent.

Alex Krassyuk, Usyk’s promoter, firmly believes that Joshua would be reluctant to face ‘The Cat’ for a third bout.

Krassyuk shared his insights in a recent World Boxing News interview, dismissing any notion of a trilogy match between Joshua and Usyk. He also suggested that it could pose a risk for Joshua to pursue such a fight.

“It might look like a gambling addiction to many. After you’ve lost money on roulette, you come back full of confidence. You bet twice or three times more than you’ve lost, expecting your bet to win. But in the end, you realize that you have lost everything,” Krassyuk said, according to Yardbarker.

He also stated that the sequence of mandatories makes the fight between Joshua and Usyk even less probable. “As we all know, the next stop of the carousel is IBF, not the WBC,” he said.

Joshua had earlier surrendered his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight championships to Usyk during a match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London in 2021. The following year, he endeavored, though without success, to win back his titles at an event in Saudi Arabia.
