Nick Kyrgios might soon return to playing tennis, having joined forces with Novak Djokovic.
Nick Kyrgios has stirred excitement among fans by revealing Novak Djokovic will feature on his podcast, alongside hints of his impending ‘return to the court.’ Since October 2022, the Australian has participated in only one singles match due to undergoing two knee surgeries and recovering from a torn knee ligament.
Kyrgios has marked his return to competition by entering the Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS) this summer, his first event after addressing his injuries.
In the meantime, Kyrgios has increased his presence in the media, contributing to Eurosport’s coverage of the Australian Open. He has also launched a successful podcast, Good Trouble, with World No. 1 Djokovic slated to be his upcoming guest.
With the announcement of Djokovic’s podcast appearance, Kyrgios has subtly indicated his approach to returning to active competition.
“Next guest on Good Trouble – Novak Djokovic. Tennis footage – Tuesday next week! BACK ON COURT,” he wrote on X.
Earlier this week, Kyrgios was confirmed to participate in the Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS).
This distinctive exhibition event is hosted at the Forest Hills Stadium in New York and features matches divided into four eight-minute quarters, with players aiming to score the maximum points possible. The event is scheduled for August 22 to 23.
“I’m feeling great but taking it one day at a time. It was a pretty significant surgery so we will see how it goes,” he said, according to Express.
