Pep Guardiola is attentively interested in a young star from Real Madrid and thinks that the acquisition of Kylian Mbappe by Madrid could facilitate his transfer to Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola is purportedly eyeing the opportunity to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid, spurred by Kylian Mbappe’s potential move to the Spanish club. Consequently, he is considering trading Julian Alvarez for the Brazilian.

At Manchester City, Guardiola has access to some of the top forwards in the world, including Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, and Alvarez. Last season, Haaland set a new record with 36 Premier League goals, Foden is currently regarded as one of the league’s top performers, and Alvarez has emerged as a key player this season.

In his second season with Etihad, the Argentine has netted 16 goals and provided 12 assists, matching Foden’s total contribution to goals in all competitions and trailing only behind Haaland.

Despite Alvarez’s significant contribution to City’s attack, Guardiola appears willing to part ways with him. Defensa Central reports that Guardiola plans to propose a swap of Alvarez for Real Madrid’s winger Rodrygo. The proposition includes a full exchange involving Alvarez.

Rodrygo’s transfer fee is rumored to be around £86 million. For the swap to appeal to Real Madrid, they would need to value Alvarez similarly. However, Defensa Central suggests that Real Madrid might not accept the offer.

The report indicates that the deal is unlikely as Real Madrid values Rodrygo highly, considering him an integral part of their team and seemingly off-limits for transfers.
