According to an English media outlet, Arsenal is in the market for a new striker, and head coach Mikel Arteta has three potential suitors on his radar.
Arsenal has soared to the top of the Premier League, overtaking rivals Manchester City and Liverpool with some assistance. Despite the North London club’s impressive performance, there are still areas within the star-studded team that need reinforcement.
According to the English media outlet Daily Express, Arsenal is in search of a new striker to elevate the team even further, and Arteta has identified three potential candidates.
The first is Brentford’s Ivan Toney, who has been long rumored to be linked with Arsenal. Toney recently made his way back to the pinnacle of English football after being banned by the Football Association in a case related to illegal betting.
The second option plays for Bologna and has made an impression in Serie A. This refers to 22-year-old Dutchman Joshua Zirkzee, who has scored 11 goals in 30 games this season.
The last candidate requires little introduction. According to Daily Express, Arteta’s third and final potential new striker is Napoli’s Nigerian star forward, Victor Osimhen. Osimhen played a crucial role in Napoli’s Scudetto-winning season last year and is just as vital this season, with 13 goals in 24 appearances.
Currently, Arsenal’s roster of outright strikers includes Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah.
