Carlos Alcaraz has surpassed Novak Djokovic, achieving an incredible milestone that only a few other players have managed to accomplish.
Carlos Alcaraz, having made his debut in the Masters 1000 series in Miami just three years ago, quickly demonstrated his potential at the highest ATP levels, securing his initial titles in 2022 and etching his name in the annals of tennis history.
At just 20 years old, Alcaraz boasts a record of 53-16 at Masters 1000 tournaments, capturing five titles from six finals, positioning himself as one of the most successful young talents in these competitions since 1990. His latest victory came at Indian Wells, where he successfully defended his title by defeating Daniil Medvedev.
In Indian Wells, Alcaraz not only defended his title but also reached a milestone by securing his 50th Masters 1000 win against Fabian Marozsan in the fourth round, becoming the second player, after the legendary Rafael Nadal, to achieve this feat before turning 21.
Surpassing Novak Djokovic’s record of 48 Masters 1000 victories before the age of 21, Alcaraz is trailing only behind Nadal, who holds an unparalleled record of 82 Masters 1000 wins before reaching 21.
Despite not hitting the milestone towards the end of 2023 due to early exits in Shanghai and Paris, Alcaraz found his stride in Indian Wells, capturing his first ATP title since his Wimbledon triumph last year, and looks to further his impressive record in upcoming tournaments in Miami, Monte Carlo, and Madrid.
