It’s not ruled out that Mason Greenwood could return to the Premier League once his loan spell at Getafe concludes at the end of this season.

The potential return of Mason Greenwood to Manchester United is being met with approval from teammates, with the club’s leadership poised to make a final decision on his future.

Initially, Greenwood’s loan move to Getafe at the start of the season suggested his time with United might be over. However, developments have hinted at a possible return for Greenwood to the Premier League team following the dropping of criminal charges by the Crown Prosecution Service due to a key witness’s retraction.

His performance at Getafe has caught the eye, drawing interest from clubs like Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a new minority shareholder at United, has mentioned the possibility of Greenwood’s reinstatement, with decisions regarding his future imminent.

Reports from The Sun indicate that Greenwood’s United teammates are receptive to his return. During his loan in La Liga, Greenwood, a product of United’s youth system, has scored six goals in 24 appearances, sparking belief that his contributions could benefit Erik ten Hag’s squad.

Despite the team’s openness, Manchester United’s supporters have reservations about welcoming Greenwood back, citing past allegations against him as damaging to the club’s reputation.

This stance suggests that the club could face significant pushback from its fan base should they opt to reintegrate Greenwood into the squad at Old Trafford.
